1. Who we are
TruJodi ("we", "our", "us") is a matrimonial platform operated exclusively for facilitating marriage introductions between individuals. Our registered address is India. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian law.
2. Data we collect
- Registration data: email address, phone number (optional at registration).
- Profile data: name, date of birth, gender, height, weight, photographs, religion, caste, community, gotra, education, occupation, city, state.
- Preference data: partner preferences you set during onboarding or later.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent — collected via server logs.
- Payment data: Razorpay processes payments; we store only subscription status and plan details — never raw card data.
3. Purpose of processing
We process your data solely for the following purposes:
- Showing your profile to potential matches.
- Sending you match suggestions and notifications.
- Processing subscription payments.
- Complying with legal obligations.
- Preventing fraud and ensuring platform safety.
4. Sharing of data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Supabase: database and authentication hosting (servers in India/EU).
- Cloudinary: photograph storage and delivery.
- Razorpay: payment processing.
- OTPless: WhatsApp-based phone verification.
- Law enforcement: when required by a court order or applicable law.
Your phone number is never shared with another user without your explicit consent (mutual interest acceptance).
5. Data retention
Your account and profile data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., transaction records for 7 years under Indian tax law).
6. Your rights (DPDP Act 2023)
- Right to access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to correction: update incorrect data via your profile page.
- Right to erasure: delete your account and all associated data.
- Right to grievance redressal: contact our Grievance Officer (see below).
- Right to nominate: nominate a person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.

7. Cookies
We use only essential session cookies required for authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Children
TruJodi is exclusively for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We will notify you by email or in-app notification at least 15 days before any material change to this policy.
